SmartTouch keypad with static lines or missing icon buttons
Symptoms & Cause
Symptoms including seeing static lines across the display, pump buttons missing icons or the spa brand logo missing. These are caused by power fluctuations forcing the keypad & spa controller to boot up out of sequence. During this staggered boot up, if the keypad fails to read the brand (BRDN) setting there is the potential for this to occur. Refer to images below.
Solution
Turn mains power off for 30 seconds. Then power back on and wait for the spa to complete its priming cycle. This should ensure the spa controller & keypad boot up simultaneously.
If the keypads still fails to display correctly after the power reset.
- Attempt power reset steps again.
- Check brand setting (BRND) and set to match your spa brand (eg. Alpine, Vortex, Sapphire ect.), then reboot controller.
NOTE: You won’t have check or change the TYPE setting
