Replace SD card on SmartTouch keypad
Why would you need to replace a SmartTouch SD card?
If your SmartTouch keypad shows a white screen or a brief flash of its splash screen, then goes completely blank/black when powering on, it’s likely due to a failure reading the image files from the SD card connected to the touchpad PCB.
In this case, the SD card needs to be replaced.
Choosing the Right SD Card
SmartTouch touchpads require a specific type of SD card:
- Brand: SanDisk
- Class: Class 10
- Size: Between 8GB and 32GB – do not use larger cards (e.g. 64GB or 128GB)
- Compatibility Warning: Avoid SD cards with a U1 logo printed on them — these are not compatible.

Refer to the images above:
- ✅ The left card is compatible — no U1 logo.
- ❌ The right card is not compatible — has a U1 logo.
Loading the Correct Image File
Once you have a compatible SD card, you’ll need to load it with the correct image file to suit your SmartTouch keypad. Using the wrong image file will prevent the display from functioning.
To do this:
- Locate the batch number on the back of your SmartTouch keypad.
- Download the matching image file from the table below.
- Load the file onto the new SD card.
